Our Kapa Haka at Assembly

This morning at assembly we watched the Kapa Haka perform. We were so proud of our Kapa Haka and all the hard work that they have put in.

Yesterday at The West Coast Kapa Haka Competitions our junior Kapa Haka came second! Well done!

Junior Whakawātea Trophy

Westport South School has donated a trophy for the Junior Whakawātea section (final waiata). The trophy has been designed by Lisa Halsall, with the materials donated by Maraea Casey and Jim Halsall. Many thanks to Jim,   Lisa, Darren Shaw and Pete Duston for their contributions towards its construction.

Regional Kapa Haka Competition

This week, the Junior and Senior Kapa Haka groups will compete in the Regional Kapa Haka Competition at the NBS, along with around 20 other schools from "The Coast".

This will be the first time our students will have performed at the competition level.
